Have had both mine since the 2017 version was released. Still haven’t found anything I would replace them with. The shield is still the king of the mountain in the Android ecosystem.
Shield CPU is by no means weak. There's still nothing in Android TV that compares to it.
Shield. Also, Shields are on sale for $140 right now if you haven't seen.
This is like the 4th post this month about people being scared that the best box on the market hasn't changed since 2015.
Nothing competes with the Shield. Buy it now. You should have bought it 3 years ago.
What performance are you after? It's still tops for emulation and gaming but has falling behind on media codecs and playback. It's long overdue for a hardware refresh.
Nvidia Shield TV is still definitely the fastest and probably will be for the foreseeable future.
