Recently got the Shield TV and Echo Dot Amazon deal. I must say the Shield TV is extremely fast and smooth compared to the Mi Box.

But the Mi Box remote is so much better than this garbage overly sensitive volume slider on the Shield remote I'd have a hard time recommending it.

I finally got one (on special) this weekend to replace my prehistoric Nexus Player. Wow, what a difference! I know it's built as a game streamer but it's buttery powerful natively too. Racing games are buttery smooth for a box I bought for Netflix, YouTube and Plex.
