Games are crashing and slow on my brand new X96 Mini box

by Liamza2314

Hi all, my name is Liam and I'm fairly new to the android TV world with this being my first box

I bought it over Black Friday from here along with an HDMI - VGA converter to connect it to my monitor

Video playback works fine, although Kodi is a tad sluggish

My problem is when I try to launch games like GTA: SA which worked fine on my tablet of inferior specs, the game loads to the end but crashes before allowing me to play. I have tried Gangstar 4 which worked but lagged, same for Minecraft Pocket edition

I don't understand why it won't work when the specs are perfectly within what is required for GTA and the other games I'm trying

Any help would be appreciated, I dont want to send this thing back

If it's an issue with android 7 is there a way to downgrade it?

As far as I know this box doesn't have Android TV OS, but regular Android OS.

It's not running the official Android TV.

You can flash this Android TV firmware https://www.atvxperience.com/

I'm part of the team that developed it.

It's obviously not the official one, but very close to it. Although with your box, it doesn't support the necessary DRM license. This is only an issue if you intend to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime etc, as that won't work.

Return it and Buy a Mii Box S from Walmart.

Should be able to get it for $44

San Andreas is an unupdated and buggy pos on Android. Thing crashes every 2 minutes on my OnePlus 6 and didn't he same on my 3T.
