Just curious, any reason why you want the 500 GB model? The shield works great as a Network Streamer.
I guess $100+ for a measly 500GB mechanical drive is a tough sell to many people when you can easily get a 4TB portable for $80. Slightly inconvenient but 8x storage.
If you really want one, you probably should get it while it's still in stock. I still regret I didn't buy the Shield K1 tablet when it was on sale.
