Mi Box S Remotes?

by TheDiamondPicks

Is there anywhere that I can purchase a Mi Box S remote? I currently have the original Mi Box, but I quite like the addition of the Live TV button, as it may help to convert my family to use it full time - rather than switching back and forward between terrestrial TV and the Mi Box. I've looked at places like AliExpress, but there seems to be nothing - I'm guessing it's too early at this stage.

Any help would be appreciated.

I lost my original remote and had to order a new one through a customer support email address from the xiaomi website. That could very well work for you here.

Edit- Here is the email address: service.us (at) xiaomi.com

I would actually email Xiaomi directly asking for a replacement Mibox S remote. They should then send you a paypal invoice with the price of the remote to buy. I know the Mibox3 remote they were wanting 15 USD. So MiboxS remote may be around the same price or more.

One thing I will mention is that I've heard someone who used a MiboxS remote on their Mibox3 and said that it functions fine but live tv button didn't work but the netflix button did. Remember that MiboxS has Oreo 8.1 compared to Mibox3's Oreo 8.0. So there must be a slight code change to make the live tv button work.

Yeah, that'd be nice if we could order these easier. Bonus is if we can figure out how to pair these remotes (if possible, at least) with other devices. I would love to use this on my Sony Android TV.

Be warned, interlaced Terrestrial / Broadcast TV on AMLogic Android TV devices like the Mi Box is full of bugs and will incorrectly output video with half motion when using Kodi and Live Channels. This is a long standing AMLogic Firmware bug.

The results of that is the Mi Box is terrible for sports viewing or any TV with lots of motion vs what it should output. Picture quality will appear dull as well.

Progressive IPTV video streamed over the Internet with Live Channels is different because it does not need deinterlacing.

The NVIDIA Shield is what you want for high quality, full motion deinterlaced broadcast TV viewing.

Don't have much hope for getting remotes separately. For international mi box 3 there is also no remote available. I found original remotes only for chinese version of boxes with different layout and features.
