Channels DVR Freezing on Shield

Does anyone else use Channels DVR (getchannels.com) ? Haven't actually committed to using the DVR portion but bought the app for my 16GB Shield to watch my HD Homerun Prime. App looks great but the video on any channel tends to freeze after 1-2 minutes of viewing until I switch channels. Same issue on my MiBox. Plenty of free space on both devices. Everything is wired with Cat 6. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I use the DVR and the free app. I would assume the free app is basically the same as the paid version without the DVR subscription. Having said that, it works incredibly well on all of my miboxes and fire TVs. Go to the channels forum and ask your question. The devs are incredibly helpful and will usually reply to you within an hour or so to help you. It also helps if you can grab logs from the client after the freeze. To do so, I believe you point your browser to http://client-ip-address:57000/logs

It's either port 57000 or 5700, I forget. But definitely check out the Android forums. I believe one of the devs has a shield and mi box and he's super helpful. Good luck!

Next time this happens, go to the Player Settings tab of the app and click Submit Diagnostics > Video Player.

Then send us an email with your HDHR device ID or DVR username (to support@getchannels.com ) and we'll check out what's going on.

Usually these types of issues happen due to bad network connection somewhere. We recommend plugging the HDHR and the devices into the same physical switch instead of splitting them across routers/switches. There have been isolated incidents where the ethernet cable that shipped with some HDHR devices was defective as well.

You can also try running the official HDHR app on the SHIELD to see if it has the same problem or not.
