Android TV Remote App and MiBox3

Hello everybody, I have a problem and it seems that it is not possible to find a solution. I have tried to connect the MiBox3 to my smartphone, a Xiaomi Mi5 for what it matters - and actually to my father's Iphone as well - but the result is always the same: the Google Android TV Remote app finds the MiBox and it tries to connect, but in a second it disconnect. I have tried through WiFi and also Blueetooth, with the latter being absolutely a fail because I am not able to find the MiBox.

Any ideas? I have tried to google it and also reddit it, without success.
In the end what I need is to have a remote app to paste links from my smartphone to my MiBox. Or maybe from my computer to my smartphone, why not.

TLDR: Google remote app for android tv doesn't work with MiBox3, neither Wifi nor Bluetooth. Tried and failed with a second smartphone. I need an app to past links from smartphone to MiBox3.

on mi box, go to apps, find Android remote service and clear data

Mi max 2 phone and mi box app work great with my mi box 3. Believe it uses the IR blaster.

I had this issue with the same ATV model until I factory reset it to solve another issue. I didn't fix the issue I wiped it for, but the app connected.

did it ever ask you for a code? if yes, than the code is cocrupted and needs to be refreshed

go to apps on mibox, find the Android Remote App, clear data

load the remote on your phone, connect, enter the 4-char code, done

Same thing happens with my Mibox. I think I read somewhere that you can download a different remote app, get it to connect, and then try to connect with the Google app afterwards. Not sure if that works though. I'll give it a try and report back.

Edit: I was never able to connect via WiFi but I am able to connect via Bluetooth now. Check your Bluetooth settings on the Mibox.
