Last week my mibox 3 auto updated to oreo and since that, the microphone is not working. Is this a genereal issue or just mine? Any advice on what should I do? Thank you

Just bought my parents a T9 box and Logitech c922x to chat with the kids. Duo accesses the video perfectly, but no audio from the c922x camera's microphone. Seems this might be related to an Oreo update. Does anyone know if I could use an additional USB microphone to get around this issue?
Had the Mi Box 2 years the mic has barely ever worked, never use it because of this.
