The MiBox is a good way for people to get into AndroidTV on the cheap. So, you're going to have a lot of people that both have never used android TV before, so are confused, and also since it is an inexpensive device, there might be a few issues that more expensive devices don't have as often.
People go to reddit for help, because a lot of time it's faster than other methods out there.
I'm ok with it because I was interested in the mibox, but after seeing all the help me posts, I'm happy to leave the mibox alone. Better than reading the might be fake reviews on your shopping site of choice.

MiBox user here (MDZ-16-AB). Bought one recently for my parents so they can watch Netflix, Plex and other local services such as Atresmedia easily. Successfully updated to Oreo and couldn't be happier with the experience. Kodi also works great.
Maybe it's because I bought the European version from an authorised local retailer instead of the one they sell on overseas Chinese retailers, but it works beautifully.
Or maybe I just got lucky. Who knows.
Either way, it's a popular device marketed to mainstream users, so expect to see many more people here asking about this specific gadget.

There's like 4 Android TV devices total, and the Mibox is incredibly cheap and sold at the nation's biggest retailer. Of course there's going to be tons of posts about it.

Its the most used AndroidTV device(which is itself niche so hardly a situation which merits strict categorization, it will dilute the communities even more and hurting everyone).
This sub is THE place on such matters and that is because it has a lot of people here. Reduce the number and it helps no one.
Post tagging system already exists. It just needs to be strictly enforced by the Mods.
