I’m planning buying a Mibox to improve my old 2015 4k smart tv performance and really want to watch 4k60fps on YouTube. Provide that I have a good Internet speed, hdmi 2.0 port on the Tv. Can the Mibox do it, which model (2016 Mibox or Mibox s), can it play 4k60fps without the rj45 adapter?
I was just streaming a 4K30FPS video on the MiBox S 4K yesterday with the "stats for nerds" on and it was staying at full quality. I was using USB ethernet. I haven't tried an 60FPS video yet, so I can't say for sure it will stay at full quality for that. If you know of a good video to test I can try it this evening or tomorrow.
edit: I will also test it over wifi. I have a 5ghz band on my router, but I normally do ethernet for the stability.
I just got a Mi Box today and I was able to play 4K60FPS YouTube no problem over the Wi-Fi, I am connected to an AC router on the 5GHz band.
I also tested the max throughput for the Mi Box Wi-Fi in my house by playing a 4K remux and my media server reported 85Mbps. This is, of course, just for me with my setup, your home and equipment might be better or worse but I can confirm it's possible.

Sorry to steal this thread but does the MiBox Support YouTube HDR?
For me it's not working, the bandwidth to YouTube doesn't go over 10-15 mbits. I did some speedtest through the Netflix app and I have my full internet speed. I don't understand why YouTube is limited like that, I have a Shield too and It can stream YouTube flawlessly
4k60fps without the ethernet adapter, I doubt it. You won't get enough real bandwidth over wifi....
4k60 on youtube works for me at least
