Now that Walmart.com is having a $20 off sale, I think I’m going to bite the bullet and get the Mi Box S. I already have a shield for my home theater, but this would replace a second gen chromecast which we still love. The latest update with the google photos friends/family album and choice on ambient mode in the google home app is great. I thought I read somewhere on reddit if someone had gotten it to work on the Mi Box S, implying it didn’t work. But I coluld not find that post (yes I searched). Can anyone verify if ambient mode works (like it does on the Shield)? That’s more important to me than using the tv as a speaker in a group, which admittedly was also very cool while ambient mode is on.
