What sort of hardware is powering the various low cost 4K Smart TV with Android or forks aka Fire Edition

by djfourmoney

Can't really afford to spend the moola for the Sony Bravia Android so that leaves -

Westinghouse 43" 4K - Poor reviews? Customers not knowing how to adjust their TV?

Insignia 43" Fire Edition 1080p

I would buy two of them one to replace the tube 28" tv in the parent's living room and one for my bedroom.

Any thoughts?

Why not get the best performing TV in regards to image quality that you can afford regardless of OS, and then get an external Android TV box for a few dollars more, like the MiBox S, or even the Nvidia Shield.

It's not easy to find the specs but here's what I found.

"These Insignia TVs are powered by the same quad-core 1.4 GHzMStar T12 processor as Toshiba’s TVs and have the same Mali-T820-MP2 GPU. They feature 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage"

"Toshiba’s TVs use a MStar T12 SoC that uses an ARM Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at up to 1.4GHz and a Mali-T820-MP2 GPU."

I actually just helped a friend set up a Toshiba model yesterday and it seemed pretty snappy.
