You're in the wrong place my friend. With the wrong box. Because It's an Android box, not AndroidTV. Read the sticky next time, it's there for a reason.

Go to /r/androidtvboxes or the freaktab forums or buy a real AndroidTV box/tv.

Rooted out of the box? Malware/spyware.

I used to know an IT guy who bought those because he could remotely access and control them for clients he sold them to. Not sure if he was using teamviewer or another application to do that.

I'd sideload malwarebytes or something to run a manual scan on the box and be careful not to use any passwords on it that are shared with anything important.

Aside from that, I'm not aware of any benefits of root access. It doesn't seem common around here.
