What's a good Android TV box better than Firestick but cheaper than Shield for IPTV

by Knighthonor

I feel bad because I told my mom to get this A95X pro box because a youtuber gave it good review. Yet this doesn't work. I can't use the Netflix app or the Hulu app since they both mess up either on playback error or Hulu logged into all zoomed in. I need a replacement for the box so I can get my mom a IPTV service. My mom don't play games nor can she afford a Shield. We thinking about just going Fire.

Fire TV Stick 4k is Fine for IPTV. Don't worry about the 4k part just means its a more powerful device than the regular stick. It also does Netflix, Hulu and any other thing she may want. It's always better to stay with mainstream stuff for other people.

The two most readily available Android TV devices right now are the Shield and the Mi Box. So I guess you're looking for a Mi Box.

Get a cheap Fire TV 4K Stick = best wireless remote in the business with better ongoing support from Amazon than what you will get from cheap Android TV media players like the Mi Box.

Excellent AC MIMO WiFi on that device as well:

my vote would be the Ematic Jetstream Android tv from walmart. a fire stick will work fine but any iptv app would need to be side loaded which means no easy updates. most iptv apps are on the Google play store for android tv.

i wouldn't buy the mibox. they have a really bad track record and no ethernet port. wired connection will give you a lot less trouble streaming iptv.

No matter what Android TV box you get your going to have some issues. Nvidia Shield is the best supported Android TV box well worth the price of $149.00 until December 24, 2018 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RXV2VR/ref=twister_B07L92L2WW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

$34.99 Fire TV Stick 4K with all-new Alexa Voice Remote, streaming media player https://www.amazon.com/Introducing-Fire-TV-Stick-4K-with-All-New-Alexa-Voice-Remote/dp/B079QHML21/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1544681821&sr=1-2&keywords=amazon+fire+stick while this is good device it's not a Android TV box it uses Amazon bastardize version of Android like all Amazon streaming devices. I personally find the home screen clutter and confusing as hell. But it will run Netflix and Hulu perfectly and should work with most Android apps including iptv services. I prefer the Mi Box S over this for one reason it's clean unclutter homescreen if Amazon was to ever clean that up I would recommend they devices for those who don't or can't get a Shield.

Firestick for sure.

I know it is not Android TV but have you tried any of the Roku streaming options? Gave my parents one and they have ran into very little issues.

Mi Box is just another Chinese box, less crappy than most but still, they release an update and chances are the box becomes worthless. Fire Stick definitely.
