Oreo Update for Philips TVs now available via OTA (2014/2015/2016/2017 models)

by StreamedPepsi

The 2018 models will follow at a later time, as announced by Philips earlier this year.

You should check for an OTA Update.

Remember that the 2014 and 2015 models must have been upgraded with an upgrade kit. Otherwise you won't get oreo on this devices.

Wow even 2014 devices, way to go Philips, how is the overall performance? I'll dump LG for the next TV option

Aw, this is the first time i regret buying a 2018 model (7303). Hope the update for new models comes soon!

My TV is saying that an update is available and it will download in the background. It's still not installed anything a good few hours later. I've checked online for the manual update package but can't find it, looks like I'll be later in getting it than I thought

Just called Phillips to find out what's going on as I was told back in December by them that the update would be coming at the start of January; they've just confirmed to me on the phone that "it's coming, I just can't say when".

Back to the XDA rooting forums I go!

Edit: TV is PUS7383

Still nothing for the 9002...

What's the xxPUS7909/R2?

I have a 55PUS7909/12 but that thing runs Google TV, not even Android TV. I doubt they will ever update it again...

And my 65OLED873 is a 2018 so I'll have to wait

beerIsNotAcrime

Will it ever come for my 55POS9002?

I wonder how much later are the 2018 models going to be updated. Darn.

Installed it on mine. Haven't done a hard reset as yet, as the family needed to use it, and installing and setting up all the apps would take time.

My first impression is that it is slower to use, especially the GA. But we'll see after doing the hard reset.

Woohoo, thanks for this. Just updated, reconfigured and reordered everything so the uninstallable Philips bloatware is at the bottom of the Apps list. So far everything looks good.
