MiBox 4K not working

Just got a MiBox 4K, whenever I change the settings to 4k60Hz, my TV screen is all glitched with lines all across the screen. But when I chose 4K-smpte, it works

TV is an NU8000.

AppleTV 4K and FireTV both work just fine on 4K.

Edit: Fixed the problem above, but I have a new problem now.

I can't play any 4K content without the box stuttering. I have gigabit internet and the router is right next to the box. I connected via ethernet and the same problem occurs, so my internet is def not the problem. The box is brand new, just got it yesterday, so I don't think a factory reset will fix it. I also cannot play any live channels without the box stuttering. I have an HDHomeRun and basically any HD channel freezes every few seconds.

Could be the hdmi cable. Replace the cable with a spare

Is this a Mi Box S what version of Android is it running. Try factory reset from the settings of the Mi Box see if that fix the issue.

I have nu8500 i got after thanksgiving. Mi box did not work work plugged in on 4k. 1080p worked fine. I puchased new uhd hdmi cables and mi box works without issue 4k60. Do note my mi box is not an s.

HDHomerun will be outputting interlaced video.

ALL the AMLogic chipset based devices like the Mi Box cannot deinterlace video properly and display sharp pictures outputs with smooth motion.

It a bug that has been ongoing since the 2016 Mi Box release.

Buy a NVIDIA Shield if you want that fixed.

High bitrate 4K HDR video playback will need a USB3 > Gigabit Ethernet adapter like the Ugreen ones to work.

Again buy a NVIDIA Shield that has inbuilt Gigabit Ethernet.

ES File explorer is the worst App you can install on Android TV devices. It has been know to cause all sorts of weird issues. Uninstall it and use XPlore instead.

Stop trying to use the Mi Bix for demanding media consumption.
