MiBox (oreo) maybe with Ugreen ethernet adapter? (is it only me that my wifi is bit unstable?)

by vebaev

My wifi connection seems to be not so stable and from time to time it drops to 0mbp/s, and the router is brand new. Is someone have similar issues?

I have read that Ugreen usb hub works even with sleep mode on oreo so I may get one just see here that there is a 3 version and do not know which one to choose?

I have the gigabit version on MiBox 3 latest firmware, works great!

I also have a MiBox and the UGREEN Ethernet adpater. I however have no issues with my Wi-Fi connection. It's very stable and actually several times faster than the wired connection via the ethernet adapter port (I only use it for the USB ports).

That said, it sounds like the wi-fi instability issue may be due to your wi-fi settings as opposed to the MiBox itself. Do you have other devices on your network that experience the same instability? If so, then you may want to tweak your router settings and switch to a different channel frequency as you might be dealing with interference from neighbours using the same channel.

As for which adapter you should be choosing, that would depend on how fast your internet connection is. If it's less than 100 mbps, then I would stick with the 10/100 USB 2.0 version as you're not going to get any added speed benefit from choosing the higher options.

I have the Amazon brand usb 2.0 adapter that I bought just to test a wired connection. Seems to work a bit better than wireless but I’m not sure if it’s the reason why it sometimes won’t get connection after several times putting it to sleep.

Hi just purchased this hub and tried it with my mi box 4k that runs on Oreo, though the settings says Ethernet is connected internet is not working...

I tried restarting both the my mi box and the home router...no luck.

Any suggestions?
