If it is BT keyboard and not a keyboard with its own dongle you should check your paired devices and remove those no longer used or required.
Having a lof of active BT connections, like a gamepad and soundbar can also cause some lagging issues, especially if currently in use while you want to type.
Those with a dongle should be better off but be aware of background tasks!
Downloading a lot of updates or watching Netflix while you stream some music to the bedroom and things can slow down.
But assuming you only give it a normal press and end up with far too many charcters in return, should indicate a hardware or communication problem.
Question: Any chance the keys affected are some of your most used one?

Then it might be the contacts are worn out or dirty.
Can you try the keyboard on a different device, like your phone with an OTG cable or a laptop?
On my mi box s it takes time for it to recognize my rf keyboard but when it does it works properly...look like wireless keyboards dont seem to work on these boxes...even mouse input is shit
