Mi Box S, same stuttering after stand by, this is my problem

I disabled auto turn off with developer options, but it is still happening.

This is what happens:

1 When I stop using the Mi Box, I change to TV and press controller turn off button. No signal, so OK.

2 When I want to use it again, I change to HDMI input and press turn on button in the Mi Box S controller. Suddenly the main Android TV screen appears. No booting logo. So it did not turn off after all??

3 Stuttering everywhere. I have to reboot it and then it works.

I have found that I can't turn the thing off for real. If I hold the power button, I can only reset. If I press turn off for a moment, it goes in this kind of stand by mode.

Where is quality control with this device?

On my Mi Box I have to have the first HDMI-CEC setting turned on otherwise it's a stuttering mess after waking it.

Great, so I'm not the only one. My only solution for now is rebooting the device, after I've rebooted the device, everything is back to normal.

It doesn't completely turns off i guess....tell me a way to turn it off with remote if u find one...and so faar i haven't experienced any stuttering

sleep mode is off basically. there used to be an off option in one of the earliest builds but it was removed after the first patch.

How is chromecast and streaming apps like Netflix, Youtube etc on this?

I just recently purchased this and will be setting it up in a day or two.

Basically i need a device that can do chromecast and run video streaming app all in one.

Currently using a chromecast and fire tv stick but it's a pain to have to change source on TV everytime i need to use the other and my household members get confused.

Having the same issue. Pushing power button doesn't fully reset the box. I have to physically unplug the power (then wait 30 seconds) and then plug back in. I have to do this every time I want to watch something without having a "stuttering mess", as indicated by Soul Assassin in previous post.
