If you go on their website, Android TV isn't a possible option anymore, they had an update in November that Android TV apps didn't get, their apps won't authenticate, and support hasn't mentioned anything back to me.
In Food Network speak: We got chopped.
In HGTV speak: We got listed.

They pulled their channels from HDHomerun Premium TV as well.
Discovery swinging their dicks around I think
I will say an email with them last week said they are working on it.
Also, really bummed they pulled this. Bought 3 Android TV's for my wife...the week before I tested it worked. Upgrade the whole house...nothing.
Oddly enough travel channel still authenticates, which automatically brings food Network back.
Do they support firetv?
This has something to do with discovery who has none of their apps on this platform regardless of how well they work.
I never understood this considering they could literally upload the Fire TV version with the needed manifest edits to make it Android TV compatible. There's literally no extra maintenance needed for Android TV.
Most likely the result of merger with Discover. Discovery doesn't support Android TV and now they are removing Scripps apps from the platform.
Holy Crap, I FINALLY got foodnetwork to register my Nvidia shield. Here is how.
Replace the XXXXXX with your code . The ATTOTT is for Directv now, so.. that is the tricky part.. I had to search around the googles to figure that out. Once I got that, I finally got my directv now login and then it registered! I suspect this method would work for all the other apps that are borked as well.
Just cast it from your phone. This is what I have been doing with HGTV since the authentication error started happening last month.
