I can adjust the volume on my Android TV using Google assistant, but no longer can turn it on/off or pause/play. What gives?

by xdriftyy

It seems like within the last two weeks I lost the ability to turn my XBR-900F on and off using Google Assistant as well as launching Netflix programs. This used to be so convenient, but it's become annoying as I got used to the integration with my assistant.

Does anyone have advice? I tried unlinking my account, factory resetting my TV and completely deleting and rebuilding my Google Home setup. All firmware is up to date and I have tried both wired and wireless networks with my TV to no avail.

What is really strange to me is that I can adjust the volume, but seemingly have lost all other controls. Any advice is appreciated.

I don't know if it's related, but I could change the Live Channels channels like two weeks ago (and before), but the ability was lost since then.

I was trying to figure that one out tonight myself. I have an Nvidia Shield with a Harmony remote. All linked with Google Assistant. It used to work with "Ok Google, tell Harmony to pause TV" and it would work. Tonight, Google passes on the command to Harmony (and Harmony verbally says that it is pausing), but nothing happens. No idea what changed.
