Still happy with my mibox
My Mi Box was fine for 2 years, it's a good little box that has had its share of poor support and buggy updates. In its current state I'd recommend it though to anyone at $60.
That been said Shield TV is a much faster, smoother, better supported experience, albeit with garbage volume control on the remote.
I have both. Shield in the lounge, miibox is the bedroom. The shield is super slick. The miibox is still slick, just not super. It works and works well, just missing a few playback modes. No 24hz for instance. The bedroom TV doesn't care for this anyway.
For the price, there's nothing to hate. I have nothing but love for mine. The remote is better than the POS on the Shield as a side note.
Poor man pays twice
I bought a Nexus Player around launch and have been totally happy. Gatekeeping is kinda dumb.
