Are there any android TV boxes that are less expensive than a shield, better than a firestick, and have an ethernet port?

by MakeAmericaGreat9

Or is the best option here to just buy the Ethernet adapters for Firesticks? I have a shield on my main TV and love the damn thing. Just can't afford to spend another $450 on them for other TVs. I have two 4k Firesticks and two the normal Firesticks without 4k. I've considered just buying the 10/100 Ethernet adapters from amazon for the sticks, but figured I should consult here first.

any ideas reddit?

REDoneofone

you can keep cheaping out and regretting it or you can buy shields. how much do you like suffering?

Less expensive=less powerful ymmv check out the ematic jetstream 4k from walmart there are conflicting report as to 4k and a few other features so do some research before you buy

Why not a fire tv second gen? That's what I use.

A new Nvidia shield with remote costs 150 euro in Europe.. that would be 170 us dollars.

I don't think it is that expensive .

Or improve your wifi performance somehow?

"Better" might be debatable, but I think the "Jetstream" sold on Walmart's website is an official Android TV box with a built-in ethernet port. It has similar specs to a MiBox, processor and video-wise.

No

I'm not sure if the Nexus player / Q has one

My previous answer was wrong. Oops..

There is nothing better or more powerful than the 2018 FireTV Stick 4K in cheap Android TV land.

Even stuff you have working on the stick like Dolby Audio and Frame Rate matching does not work with cheap Android TV devices. Support for those features is really poor.
