Sometimes I get a YouTube video to play with sound but get a green screen. Sometimes it stops to buffer every 5 seconds. Whatever problems I encounter, they're always resolved if I disconnect the power cord for a second. (Ordinary power off doesn't help).
Also, casting from a phone works but takes 20 sec or so.
I find this a very poor experience. Is this normal?
What better streamers can you recommend?
Our MiBox has a ton of issues. We have to unplug it a lot. I sat that the S version came out recently but I don't want to go through this nonsense again. Everyone raves a out the Nvidia Shield bit I don't want to spend that loot right now.
the MiBox S seems a bit hit or miss. Some people have a ton of issues, others, like me, have almost none.
I don't know if it's a lack of QC, or something else. Maybe it doesn't work well with certain people's setups.
For me, with my MiBox wired, or on my 5ghz wifi, I get instant chromecast streaming, youtube and netflix work great, and I've never had to power cycle, and it's all in 4k.
But it seems my experience may be more rare.

Have you tried a system reset? Occasionally I see an edited post where that solved the issue.
If you want a streaming device mostly for YouTube, I'd suggest a Fire TV stick and sideloading SmartYouTubeTV onto it (or Aptoide for good measure). Haven't had any Mi-Boxesc issues so far, and even casting YouTube (somewhat) works.
I will try not to buy a Mibox ever again. Unless there was a major hardware change. The money i wasted on it and the Roku oh and i bought a firetv well the Roku is okay and but i should of just bought the shield first.
I've only had it for two days but I did have to reboot once so far.
Also FYI for people who don't want to get up, you can reboot if you hold the power button on the remote for about 10 seconds or so.
