MiBox3 netflix not working

by SpikeBolt

I have googled this issue extensively but I can't find a solution.

I bought Mibox 3 for my mother on christmas but I'm having a hard time setting it up. It plays for 10-20 seconds and then gives me a tvq-pm-100 (5.2.5).

Uppon google it appears to be an HDCP problem. I installed DRMInfo and it says "Max HDCP level: Unprotected". I've tried in on all my TVs (bought 1-3 years ago), several HDMI cables, no success.

Is this a box problem or a TV problem? What a bummer.

I face this issue once everyday. Netflix has an explanation saying it's box or device refresh related. You need to restart the mibox and things get back to normal.

On my mi box, the problem was actually the tv (haier 4k) not constantly reporting the hdcp level. From what I understand, the mi box is just a pass through for the signal while the roku and firetv self report. Now, I mostly use fire products.

As a workaround install Kodi v18 from via a USB stick and the Xplore App::

Install the Netflix Addon:

I just started the Addon, entered my Login details and that was about it. No need to enter much more.

Maybe try factory reset. If that doesn't help return it.

Maybe you can try to watch Netflix using kodi 18 and the Netflix add on.

Some miboxes have faulty drm safety measures and thats the reason you cannot play some netflix stuff. For example some netflix series should be played fine:try BCS or last season of HoC. You could try to return mibox and take another one and in 98% the next will be playing all netflix stuff just fine.

I have exactly the same issue. i have installed Kodi Lelia v18.2 and installed a Netflix add on following this tutorial i can confirm that this will allow you to watch Netflix on a XIAOMI Mi Box 3 that has this issue.
