Wifi connection dropping since last update? (Philips 55PUS7272/12)

by rapax

Got an Android TV update last night. Launcher and a few other details changed, but nothing drastic. But since the update, the wifi connection drops sporadically and refuses to reconnect. The only thing that seems to help is a reboot, then after 10-15 minutes, the connection drops again.

Wifi signal is strong (Google Wifi, the puck is an arms length from the TV) and no other devices are having trouble.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Edit: seems like its this issue. Switching to static IP now, will report back if the issue persists.

I'm having the same issue. And Philips shut down their forums so there's no where to report and tell them. That's annoying.

Having a similar issue with my Sony TV. Updated recently, but didn't notice anything because of the holiday season. But, now it says my router is "not in range". All other household devices are all connected tho.

Chatted with Philips Switzerland customer service this afternoon. They (whoever that is) are apparently aware of the problem, but he had no information about when a fix would be available.

I've resorted to threading an Ethernet cable behind the wall panel.

I'm having the same issue, occasionally having to do the only workaround so far - restarting the TV. Waiting eagerly for Philips to get their shit together and roll out an update with this issue fixed.

Update: so after switching to static IP, the issue seemed to have been fixed. But after a few hours I got the same popup again. WiFi is gone. Needed a reboot to bring it back. So no fix so far.

Hello guys,

same here on 55PUS6551/12.
After 15 minutes there is no wifi connection.
I have to reboot TV to obtain and find wifi signal.

Today I got email from Philips support:

We recommend:

1 / to restart the TV / pull out electricity cable for 10-15 minutes

2 / remove the battery from the remote control and then press any button on the remote control

3 / After 10-15 minutes insert the batteries into the controller and connect the TV to the socket

4 / then delete the internet memory.

(Home)> Settings> Network> Clear internet memory

And then/

Turn on (Home)> Settings> General Settings> Reinstall the TV

You will restore all TV functions

I am a little bit skeptic about these solutions, also I don't want to "reinstall TV".

Have the same issue, quick workaround for another 20 minutes is to go to wifi card connection and turn it off and on.
