TCL TV: Play Store missing apps / Netflix interface resolution / ADB to disable apps

by espositodnl86

Hi everyone!

I just bought this TV model from TCL and I have some questions:

  1. Why is the Google Play Store missing many apps compared to other Android TVs (e.g. Amazon Prime Video)?
  2. Is it true that the preinstalled Netflix app doesn't give access to 4K HDR content on this TV even if I have a premium account?
  3. Is it possible to connect the TV to my computer and through ADB disable integrated apps that I can't disable from the Android app list?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Re 1. Amazon has specific deals with companies specifically with Nvidia, Philips and Sony to have Prime available to their AndroidTV devices. Everyone else needs to sideload.

Re 2: According to this article, it should have no problem viewing 4K HDR https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23928

I have a TCL 55C2US (it’s a Latin America version), the Netflix App has HDR without any problem, so I assume yours has it too.
