Hey guys.
Everything is fine with this box except the Wi-Fi connection which is quite slow to stream 4K content. So i decided that i'll buy an USB Ethernet HUB and try the Ethernet connection, but i have two issues.
1.) I activated the developer mode and also changed the USB connection to Ethernet mode, but there still is not any Ethernet option under Networks, only the Wi-Fi. Also, if i reboot the Box, and go to Developer --- USB mode settings --- The USB connection is again set to USB mode, not the Ethernet mode i changed it to, so it seems, that there is some Android 8 bug, that prevents the mode changing?
2.) I bought an USB Ethernet HUB with Realtek 8153 Chipset which simply does not work in a way, that after connecting it to the Box, there still is not any Ethernet option. It might be that this chipset is unsupported? I've read that ASIX AS88179 chipset works on the Xiaomi TV boxes, so i might try it.
But my main question is:
Do someone has this Box with the latest Android 8 update, and the Ethernet is working flawlessly?
I have 2 MiBoxes 3 on latest Oreo firmware, both use the UGreen gigabit ethernet adapter, no issue at all.
I had nothing to do to make it work, just plug the USB in the MiBox and the ethernet cord to my network.
But it might be different on the S version of the MiBox...
