Does anyone else view Twitch on their Android TV device? I'm using a shield and I'm having a consistent issue with it not starting streams from where I stopped watching it last, weirdly if I watch the stream on my shield and then switch to my Windows laptop it does work.

I view twitch on my Android TV, and it's always been buggy. I only watch live streams, so I don't know about your issue.
I only watch live streams but it works fine on my Mi Box.
I have found that the Twitch Android TV app kind of sucks for VOD playback. I have seen the issue you're describing, it doesn't remember the last played location. Then on top of that, there isn't an easy way to fast forward large segments of time using the Shield TV or Mi Box remote.
Pick the playback resolution rather than leaving it on auto. That's the only way it works for me.
The Twitch app has been abandoned on Android TV. It hasn't been updated in a very long time.
You should use this app instead. It's being actively developed and is much better than the official app. It should solve all your problems.
