Philips Android Oreo update can't read NTFS anymore

by Sttype

So I got the Oreo update 2 days ago on a 55PUS7503 and now I can't read my NTFS HDD anymore with Kodi, VLC, ES Explorer, Archos Video... The only way to read my HDD is to read it from the native Philips app.

Does this update broke the NTFS support for you too guys? I tried to call the hotline but they don't care much about this problem, they keep telling me to use FAT32.

Factory reset?

Oh my god I received same update today, and I have same exact problem, standalone media apps doesn't recognize ntfs or exfat. Built in player sucks dick, laggs and freezes. Is there any possibility to roll back to 7.0?

Hi guys,

I also had the same problem until today, when I received an email from philips (reply to my complaint) with new version of Android Oreo. I own philips pus7363 and this is the link for downloading the latest version for my TV which solved the problem https://app.box.com/s/it79myjm1p9iy75xw1lmedr4j8h4vhz1 . If it is suitable for your TVs you can try it.

Same thing for 50PUS7303. As a workaround I'm using Paragon app with Total Commander - sad that I've should install other apps to open my HDD, but this is only way I found. Another sad thing - built-in Philips player cant play 60GB 4K movies without glitches, but MX Player playing them well. And to use MX I should mount HDD with Paragon -> open with TC -> open with MX. And yes, next button is not working in player, for next movie you should close MX, select next video in TC -> open with MX, and so on. And even if HDD is mounted, MX or any other player can't see list of files, and only way to open is like i described above.
