Mi Box is impossible to find in Australia so I ordered one online and it appeared on my doorstep soon after.
I have a mi box (Ontario) brand new in a box that I'd be happy to part ways with.
Is ordering from Walmart online not an option?
I'll join in and caution you to stay away from any of the cheap Chinese boxes due to not being Google Certified and you'll toss them in the trash. I speak from experience.

There's the Ematic Jetstream, but that might be equally difficult to find in Canada.
Maybe the Mecool KM8? I've heard that's missing some bits like the Chromecast compatibility.
I'm in New Brunswick. I've got the Ematic Jetstream. But I live right on the US border so dropped over and got it.
Are the AirTVs available in your area? Mine has been working pretty good.

Disable Pik TV app in Android settings and it will then boot straight into the regular Android TV launcher.
I managed to get 2x MiBox S here from Walmart US, via crossborderpickups.ca Ended up costing me about 150$ (Re shipped to my door via CanadaPost)
There are only 3 certified Android TV boxes I'm aware of at this point: Shield TV, Mi Box S, and Jetstream.

Do you mind me asking why you want a certified Android TV box? On the low end the Fire TV 4k stick is still the best bargain right now. You can sideload Kodi, Vudu and most of the same apps a standard lower-end Android TV box runs.
Love my Shield but the Fire TV 4k stick is good too.
If you mean just an Android box then the FireStick 4K would be the best choice as it has Canadian apps. You can get them at Bestbuy in Canada.
If you mean an Android TV box then other than the Nvidia Shield TV box (Bestbuy) or Xiaomi Mi s box (Walmart) you are out of luck in Canada unless you order a Chinese box from Amazon, eBay etc.
I wasted a lot of money over the years on Chinese/Generic boxes, I probably could have bought 2 Shields. Finally took the plunge and got a Shield a few months ago and have not looked back. Great Box for me. Save up, you won't be sorry
