What are some good Apps you sideloaded which are not available in the Play Store?

by r0cky

I know not all compatible apps are available through the Play Store but are still compatible and easily installable via USB stick. So I'm asking what are some of your favorite Apps you sideloaded onto your Android TV?

haojiezhu

Dolphin Emulator, Magic DosBox, reicast, APK Export, Blokada, BubbleUPnP, Microsoft Remote Desktop, Terminal Emulator for Android

And some games that work great on Shield TV but are flagged incompatible in Play Store: GTA III, San Andreas, Vice City, Bully, Max Payne

When you all side load APK's, what's your method for keeping those apps up to date? Do you just sideload the APK again when the app is updated from the Appstore?

Humble Bundle is pretty great if you want some great games that aren't ridiculous microtransaction mills.

Airdroid... I like managing my Shield from my laptop.

ZionTV may be my favorite app currently, though

Firefox isn't compatible or you get a gimped version on the shield. It's my favorite way to use nfl and mlb streams because of ublock.

I wouldn't sideload anything unless you're using a shield TV or something. I wouldn't trust a sideloaded app on a native Android TV's.

You'll end up slowing your TV down and potentially damage it.

Wish the shield TV was like 50 Euro or so at that point it would be worth buying for me. Currently it's too expensive. I would be better off selling my current ps4 and buying a PS4 pro which would probably roughly cost me the same.

The only reason I would want a shield is to stream 4k hdr content on Netflix and better hdr support on YouTube. I really dislike dobly on the x900f
