AndroidTV sporadically losing audio?

by rapax

This issue first appeared a few days ago, and I'm wondering if it's my setup or if others are experiencing the same.

Philips 55PUS7272/12 running Oreo with HDMI/ARC connected to a Sonos Beam.

While watching Netflix or Youtube, or anything through AndroidTV, the audio suddenly falls silent. It's not just a Netflix problem, because switching to something else, like YouTube or Play Music, doesn't cause audio to return. What does bring the audio back is switching to basic DVB-C, and then when switching back to AndroidTV the issue is gone until the next time.

I'm not excluding the possibility that it might be a Sonos issue, so I'll be disconnecting my Beam tonight and seeing if the issue arises with the TV's internal speakers instead.

So, anyone else seeing this?

Lg tv + mibox + sonos beam = no issues for me.

had several issues with several soundbars and a 55POS Philips.

Solved by setting the audio in the Philips settings to stereo uncompressed, couldn't relay the multichannel well.

Just try it.

I have a philips tv (49" version with android tv built in and ambilight 3) and a nvidia shield tv (I didn't like philips built in android as I can't install whatever I want onto it), and I've experienced random loss of audio too, happens fairly frequently and I'm not sure why...I thought maybe the TV was just going weird but interesting to see I'm not the only one with the issue, if you do get to the bottom of the issue let me know what you did to solve it
