Any way to refresh the advertised shows on the home screen?

by zombiejim

For the longest time I've had the exact same ads on my home screen. Law and Order SVU, James Franco on SNL, and worst of all The Orville. I can't quite explain why, but I hate Seth MacFarlane and I don't want to see his face every time I open up the home screen. I've never watched any of those programs on streaming, and as it is I rarely use the app that stream from (Hulu).

Is anybody else facing this problem? Advertisements were what made me reluctant to get a smart TV in the first place but I figured it wouldn't be so bad.

Hulu hasn't update their ATV app since the fall of '17. I will not subscribe again until they do!

What brand and model TV do you have? My Sony, I was able to search online and find a way to go in and disable a few services, etc.. and now I have 0 ads and just get a msg, no recommendations. I have a VERY low tolerance for ads and based my TV purchase partly on it's ability to have no ads. Give more info, and maybe people can find something. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/sony-tv-settings-guide,review-5605-11.html
