Can someone explain what TrueHD is or why they would purposefully disable it
Couldnt add refresh rate switching or hdr in three years. Wonder how long it will take to work out how to disable truehd.
Some of us use truehd/dtshd with our remuxes, you know.
Wow, probably should go ahead and turn off updates. They can't be for real with this.
If that post is true it screams incompetence from either Xiaomi and/or AMLogic.
Taking already working features (2016 Mi Box) out of a media player with an update will only increase hostility towards the brand.
Xiaomi still have not fixed 5.1 DD+ bitstreaming from Netflix with Oreo. And still continue to deceptively and falsely advertise Mi Box surround sound Audio capabilities.
Welcome to a 2.0 audio only media player, because that is the direction they are heading towards.
Is there a specific address you can block to avoid updates?
Well, this was posted on Facebook. Don’t know if it’s true. I’m not beta tester.
“My mibox3 now on beta build 2977, support auto switch refresh rate 24p on Kodi & Plex, but doesn't support passthrough true HD & DTS HD, only dolby digital (AC3)”
I grabbed a mi box S recently and was one of those participating in the Facebook discussion with the developer. Previous iteration supports these basic audio features but the S did not, and now they're going to disable on the predecessor.
What a piece of garbage company. I hope nobody buys another device from them of any type ever again.
Wow, talk about waking up a sleeping dog.
