Xiaomi Mi Box S isn’t “officially supported” by the HBO NOW Android TV app even though their app logo is prominently featured on the product box and Xiaomi / Walmart website.

Let's start with the fact that HBO Go Android TV app is total crap. (Unless the US version somehow drastically differs from the European one)

In addition Xiaomi advertise the Mi Box as Dolby Audio compatible. When such audio support does not exist. You get 5.1 DD+ dropouts and no Dolby Audio downmixing like you see with other Dolby Audio licenced media players.

That alone should be grounds for returning the Mi Box if you bought it from Walmart regardless of the age of the device.

It’s clearly false advertising.

Android TV in a nutshell. It's a discombobulated mess across the board and Google makes nothing but false promises to improve it. Still no Android 9.0 Pie release either 6 months after it released for phones.

There is much more that is not working as supposed to. Really a dissapointing the Mi Box S. I now have a real Chromecast next to the Mi Box S and i can stream everything. I think google is not really supporting this Mi Box S and it will never do!

For issues like these, is the Jetstream any better?
