I'm trying to install a security camera app for a cheap camera I have on my Android TV OS box. It's a mobile phone only app so I installed the APK and it's running but everything is sideways like it is if it was on a phone. Anyway to fix this so it's usable?
I tried getting one of those "turn this device into a webcam" apps, it only worked on mobile so I had to sideload and although the app worked in the end it was basically stuck sideways.
As far as I know of you can't really rotate the app if it isn't optimized for sideways/TV, I think there's an additional app you could download that will allow you to lock orientation on other apps but I'm not sure if that requires root or would work on Android TV (probably would if sideloaded)
edit: in the end I gave up on trying to use my AndroidTV box as a webcam setup and instead just ended up buying a wifi camera (this was all to try and keep an eye on the puppy when not home)
I use Set Orientation on my mi box and it works great.
BUT the security camera app needs to have a landscape mode.
