Which Android TV Box would you recommend?

by Panduurr

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying an Android TV box for my grandfather who will be using it exclusively for Netflix streaming. I previously tried giving him my old cheap Beelink box but as it was not running a licensed version of Android TV I couldn't sideload the proper Netflix app.

What is a simple to use box that you could recommend? Preferably under $150.

Based in Australia by the way.

Thanks a lot!

Mi Box S for $59 USD. You may have to buy it off of eBay since it's a Walmart exclusive.

Avail in Aust. Walk into a Voda store - Also with a 2 year local warranty - the AUD $72 Vodafone TV:

Runs Android TV Nougat - but has less bugs vs the Oreo on the Mi Boxes. Also includes a DVB-T - TV tuner.

No 5.1 Netflix Audio dropouts either that you would get with a Mi Box.

Jetstream 4K Ultra HD is similar but has ethernet port - it's a Walmart USA exclusive too $69.99

If shes using it just for Netflix, then get her a FireTV 4K ($39). Clearly she doesn't need 4K, but instead will benefit from getting fast navigation.

If you LOVE your grandma, you will get her a MiBox ($59) and an external HDD filled with porn classic TV shows and movies.

I'd get a roku for a non tech person super easy to use.
