Aren't some of the US TV networks going with Android TV for their own set to boxes. Android TV use has exploded in the last while and is on a huge upward trend.
deprecated ≠ depreciated
The Firestick runs a forked version of Android. It most certainly could easily support the new interface. If he is saying they just don't I get it but saying it's unable because of hardware or software would be flat out wrong
Dammit, Jesus!
This isn't exactly new, they haven't updated their app on Android TV in years and in their AMA a year ago they basically said it wasn't worth supporting for them.
We don't have profiles, let alone live tv.
However, It is really weird to me that they don't support it. Not caring about the Nvdia Shields and Mi Boxes is one thing, but Android TV is built into Sony Bravia TVs. Sony's market share is not what it used to be, but it is extremely odd not to care about it when they can make it with just some adjustments to the Fire TV app. Meanwhile they make dedicated apps for Samsung and LG TVs.
I love Android TV, but they have a point. Google is really shitting the bed with Android TV. If not for NVIDIA and occasionally Xiaomi, the platform would be dead. It's a shame, because the OS is untapped potential, as far as I'm concerned. It just didn't take off the way it should have.
Dumb move
Jesus Quist that’s annoying
Odd, Considering someone posted here a couple months ago that Hulu would have a new Android TV app sometime this year. That person could have been talking out there butt. Or this one could be some computer nerd that doesn’t like ATV and was giving his opinion. Either way, disappointing.
Hulu and Amazon made an agreement to make Hulu Live the first available live IPTV on their Echo Shows...you can figure out why corporate is telling its reps to push that narrative about ATV.
I guess some people won't keep their Hulu account any longer.
This is a selling point. Set the profile on your tv as the first one and no garbage ui
Hulu is deprecated.
Illiterate much?
Different Agents will have various levels of training and it’s not unusual to get conflicting answers...
Honestly, I think Hulu has stated something similar on their site about this.
In this context, deprecated doesn't mean Google has deprecated Android TV. It means Hulu isn't interested in the platform.
