Make YouTube videos work like cable TV?

by cowscrubber

I just bought a Mi Box S. I'm looking for an app, or some kind of workaround, that plays YouTube live videos, and then by pressing a direction button on the remote, it goes to the next live video in the playlist. In a sense, I'm hoping to make YouTube work like cable TV where each live video would be a "channel".

Is this possible?

I'm setting up the box to be used by seniors, so I'm hoping for this to not have any learning curve for them.

Thanks in advance

Pseudotv add on for Kodi is the only thing I know that can do this. The software is a little buggy but they're supposed to come out with an update soon.

Let us know how it works out. I've been looking for an iptv player where I can load my youtube subscriptions and watch later or playlists in a epg format. If Live Channels could add a feature like this it would be perfect.

If the channels you are using from YouTube live stream often, get the direct url as they change often.

Usually you can use https://www.youtube.com/user/ChannelName/live and it will go to the first live event from that channel.

Make a M3U list of the channels you chose and there are apps that let you use M3U files with live channels (iirc TVIRL?).

I would love to have something like this

This overall concept sounds kinda like PlutoTV.

have you tried the smart tube app? Get it through filelinked. Works great.
