Nvidia shield CEC volume control doesn't work on Samsung TV..only CEC TV on/off control..I tried IR volume control ..it does work but after two days..IR stops working and I have to restart Nvidia to make it work again..anybody have solution please?

It's a samsung TV problem. well not the IR not working anymore.  That's weird and I don't have that problem.  But 3 of my 4 shield boxes are hooked up to Samsung's.  HDMI volume doesn't work for any of them, but the 4th box hooked up to a projector/receiver works fine.

I use a harmony hub and it's great. Direct control of each device and it supports IR, wifi, and Bluetooth.

I've had this issue but with Sonos plugged into my Samsung TV.  I've allowed external control and disabled the tap to pause on the remote but still shits out after a few days.

Exact same issue, my IR would stop working every few days. I bought a Fire Stick 4K remote and programmed IR volume on it using a Fire Stick temporarily, been working flawless since then.

I've got a KS8000, 2016ish Denon AVR and an Nvidia shield. CEC volume control works fine for me. Are those experiencing problems on a strictly TV+shield setup?

Like other people have said, it's definitely a samsung tv problem. I have it too on my samsung tv but on my philips tv CEC works perfectly
