Hey guys so I downloaded a big ass file to my mibox (over a 100 gigs) since I'm using a shared 1tb drive and was going to transfer it to my laptop but it turns out there's no way to either mount the drive using any program on windows and apparently I cant even copy the files to a usb drive for whatever fucking reason.
So I'm just asking is there any way I can transfer it out of my box without having to send it ota as my internet is beyond garbage and would just basically be the same thing as redownloading it.
Thanks :)
Plug in another USB drive formatted with exFAT and mount it as removable storage. Because your file is bigger than 4GB, FAT32 will not work. NTFS probably won't allow you to write. Check if you can copy files to it. If you can, you should be able to move files between adoptable storage and removable storage. You'll need a USB hub to do this.
I use this method to transfer big files in and out of Shield TV's adoptable storage occasionally. And because it has 2 USB ports, no USB hub is needed. But people here have reported issues with writing to removable storage on Mi Box with Oreo. So I am not sure if this method also works with Mi Box S. But you can give it a try before copying it over network.
