I've dumped the most recent version (1.91.0) of Bell's Crave TV apk from my Fire Stick 4K and modified it to remove the Amazon appstore dependencies. Works great with my 16GB 2015 Shield and my 16GB 2017 Shield. I thought I would share the wealth.

I had the unmodded version running on my SHield but it required the amazon app store installed AND owning the app.
I much prefer to have versions of apps that don't have these stupid requirements.
Now I need to find a modified version of the My5 fire stick app (UK) that removes the amazon requirements.
Does this work with the Mibox?

Have been looking for this for weeks and bugging Crave to release an Android TV version. Not sure why they haven't done so but this is awesome. Wasn't about to buy a Fire TV stick to watch Crave when I have the much better Shield TV already.
Works great, though there doesn't seem to be a separate channel for Crave on the home screen. Not sure if that exists on the Fire TV or not.

So I log in and it tells me to go to crave.tv/FireTV then input the code then log in.
So I click “log in using provider” but then it won’t let me in ....anyone else have this issue? I don’t think it’s this add on specifically but s crave tv issue.
I'm having trouble on my shield tv 2017. App crashes every time I run it. I had an aptoide version running before, it ran, but, horrible interface. I uninstalled it before installing your app, but, neglected to clear cache and data. Cleared cache and data on your app, then uninstalled and reinstalled and rebooted, didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks for the effort, btw. Crazy that their isn't more set top support for crave...
Modded Crave FireTV app confirmed working in a Sony 75X900F.
Sideloaded it using ES File Explorer and Google Drive. Remember to disable unknown sources and file checking.
Logged in using www.crave.ca/firetv using crave logins (not provider) from my mobile.

Does anyone know how to operate the options menu with this modded app? Usually the fire TV remote has an options button, but in this case we wouldn't have a physical button to go to the options menu.

When you open something I see that it seems to use the local Android player, or so it seems by the material design.
If you want to fast forward you only can only use the fast forward button, but you cannot select the slider and move it to quickly jump to a specific moment, but instead you have to fast forward in a VHS fashion.
I see that in the phone Android app you can select the slider to whichever moment in the chapter as you would in the YouTube app for example. Would this be because of the port from the FireTV app or because of the native Android TV player?
Am I missing something? Can one use a different player?

Hey OP. Can you also share the original apk for Crave TV, without any mods? I can't seem to find direct download from Amazon..
Anyway you can do the new Xumo app for Fire TV? I would be forever in your debt!!! The Crave Mod for Android tv works like a charm!!!
Followed all your instructions, everything worked perfectly.
Even logged into Crave using the cravetv.ca/firetv thing.
The only problem is I can't watch any content. I select it, it loads up like it's going to play, but all I have is a blank screen and the pause button, rewind / fast forward button and show/movie title.
Can't get it to actually play anything.
I can watch on my phone though...
I still get a jailbreak message on my T9.
Assuming that there the Fire TV apk has not been updated to stream 1080p? It's still fantastic having the app on my Shield TV without having to cast it from my iPhone. Kudos!

Any new versions of this modded Crave app? Actually any new version of the Crave app at all? :D Just wondering if I'm missing something, I don't have a Fire TV.
What are the changes in the new crave mod file? I installed on top and don't seem to catch any change.
So finally Bell launched an official Crave app for Android TV.
Just installed it, was a bit slow at first but then it went fluid all the sudden, maybe was loading something.
At first glance just saw that has a continue watching band, which is great.
To try it just have to uninstall and reinstall from the Google Play Store.
