Need Help: App Incompatible With Your Device

by Scrotinger

I'm trying to install and Android TV app but it says it's incompatible with my device. Does anyone know how to get more information on this? It doesn't tell me why it's incompatible and I don't think it should be.

Is there a way to check an App's requirements or compatible devices?

Details: Here is the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maz.home1388&rdid=com.maz.home1388

My TV is a Sony Bravia (KDL-50W800C). I've checked and my TV's OS is up to date.

If you visit an app's play store page in a web browser with a Google account logged in, it shows compatibility info with all devices registered under that account. You need to click the line with "This app is compatible with some of your devices” (What you see might be different depending on what devices you have).

If an app is not compatible with a device, you can try to sideload it. But it still may crash upon launch or have other weird issues if it's not designed for Android TV.

You can export APK of an app from a compatible device using APK Export, find its APK on APKMirror, or using Aptoide store for Android TV. Some APKs are packaged for a particular architecture, like arm/arm64/x86 and won't work if you pick the wrong one.
