Hey guys, need a little bit of assistance. I’ve got some huge 4K movies on my external hard drive which is formatted to NTFS. But the MiBox does not read it. Any workaround?

NTSF access was broken with the Oreo update
NTFS support was indeed broken but has since been fixed. Make sure you have the latest official OTA update installed. Mine works fine now.
Mine is on Oreo 2396 right now. Tried three 16GB USB sticks (Kingston, Verbatim, Sandisk) with FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS. They are all recognized and mounted properly.
I wonder if your issue is caused by either OTG driver compatibility or spinning hard drive draws too much power from that USB port. Can you try an NTFS-formatted USB stick to see if that works?
You could share the hard drive with your router if you have a decent one. My WRT32X has USB 3.0 and can read/write to my 4TB USB 3.0 hard drive at 80-100MB/s. Mi Box and Shield TV both read it for large movies with no issue.
Wouldn't exFAT be the best filesystem for media storage? I mean, if you felt like converting.
MiBox can't play the files smoothly anyway. It's really noticeable on long panning or zooming shots.
Does it read from an ext4 formated USB drive?
