Someone played Porn on our Skyworth AndroidTV

by seawiiitch

UPDATE: SOLVED!! Thank you for all the suggestions! Changed my password and will regularly check whos connected moving forward.

My sibling was projecting Netflix on our tv thru hdmi as the tv isn't verified(?) by Netflix when the screen suddenly changed into some porn. We immediately turned it off. We're the only ones at home so no one in the family casted it for sure. I feel like our neighbor accidentally casted it but how?! Can we somehow restrict that? Help please, I don't want that happening when some visitors are here.

You could setup a dedicated guest WiFi that only has Internet access but no access to your TV/NAS etc.

Neighbours stealing your WiFi maybe?... First thing I'd do is log in to my router and check the DHCP leases and figure out if there are more devices on there than you have in the house.

Probably time to start beefing up your security.

Change your WiFi connection password to something reasonably complex and make sure you're using WPA2-AES encryption in case your neighbour is stealing your WiFi. WEP is trivial to break and WPA has weaknesses that make it vulnerable to determined WiFi 'thieves'.

Also, make sure YOU haven't accidentally logged on to your neighbour's open WiFi, in the case that the neighbour has left it open.

Imho the safest way to prevent people from sniffing your wifi is turning od dhcp and only whitelisting certain Mac addresses.

This never happened to me (I work part time in a TV store)

Run angry Ip scanner and see what else is in your network.. go through them thoroughly and see if there's any unknown devices.. or just simply change the WiFi password...
