I was reading this recent AndroidPolice article and it mentions a new NBC Sports app.

Looking at the screenshots and knowing there is already a phone/tablet version of the app I decided to look into the link. Here is the Google Play Store link mentioned in the article, and note the package name:

It doesn't pull up a description on the TV's Google Play Store (yet), but I downloaded the apk on a different device and sideloaded it to my Shield TV. Unfortunately the app currently crashes on open, so it could be a work-in-progress.

The screenshots on the Play Store listing is different than the screenshots from the phone version of the app. The biggest indicator is all of the screenshots are in landscape orientation and look similar to the Fire TV's app screenshots.

Also the activation website for the NBC Sports app now has an Android TV option just below Fire TV.

These are great signs that another network TV app is coming to Android TV Soon™
