Is it official androidTV mibox or the Chinese mibox?

Anyhow, try factory resetting it. Find the remote control keys combo for your specific box to enter the recovery menu.

This is not an Android TV device. It runs MIUI TV which is a custom version of Android (I believe it is still KitKat)

Edit: It is the Mi Box Mini which is not the same thing as the Android TV device.

Can't see shit behind that scratch.

As others have suggested trying to get into recovery mode via powering off and the remote key pressing stuff (Google mi box recovery). If you can get into recovery and factory reset then you are golden. If you can't get into recovery mode because it never loads (never gets past the mi logo) then you are boned. Hope it's under warranty. If it's not. Throw it away and move on.

On the back of the box I believe it’s in the bottom of the optical slot is the reset button. Use a toothpick with the tip flattened as to not scratch the optical reader

It doesn't matter that the interface is a little messy based on your opinion you can hold down the home button and click on apps problem solved and you don't have to deal with all the extra interface and besides it's a TV device what do you expect it's only showing what you recently viewed or watch that's what it's designed to do

I don't run high definition anyways, don't have 4k TV's,I think 4k is a waist of money, and don't have unlimited internet, my cap is 1tb, I have my fire sticks set for medium settings,I don't see much of a difference between 4k and 1080p, the only way I can justify using 4k is if I was sitting with in 3 feet of a TV, I don't think my internet is fast enough to support 4k and I'm not about to spend an extra 150 a month just to stream 4k, so eithernet is not necessary for me to use my fire stick, the support for 5ghz wifi is more than enough, I'm sitting 15 feet away DVD quality is more than enough and allows me to run sling all month long and have enough left over for more

Well, I highly recommend getting a fire TV stick.
