Is casting broke for anyone else?

Question

I'm unable to cast any Google products to my Shield or Chromecast. Anyone else have this?

There was a security bug with Google Photos and casting. I understand some casting features were disabled as a result.

I'm on MiBox and suddenly I can only cast YouTube videos to YouTube TV device instead of my MiBox device witch is also listed when casting

I had an issue as well, however after updating the Google Cast app on my Nvidia Shield (via the play store) and rebooting the Shield, my Google home and laptop can now cast to the Shield just fine.

I tried a Sony Android TV, not at my house, and it works perfectly. The common denominator seems to be my network, but the Sony TV isn't a Chromecast or Shield, so I'm not sure.
