MiS Remote on Nvidia Shield

There's a lot of buzz here about the new Mi Box remote, and I'm genuinely curious:

My girlfriend recently moved in with me (surprisingly not a huge change) and I'm using an Nvidia Shield (the newer version) as my main entertainment device. I am personally used to the odd touch sensitive strip for the volume on the remote, but she just isn't and she's having a lot of trouble with it.

I heard people buying the new Fire TV remote to get around similar problems, but I was wondering if the Mi Remote will work just as well. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I just got a fire TV 4k for travel and it works pretty much flawlessly with the shield.

If you like to use voice command, then get the g20 remote. If you like a full qwerty keyboard, then get the mx6 (voice command works too but more cumbersome: long press play button to trigger and press-n-hold mic button to talk.)

Both are much better and much cheaper than the Alexa Fire remote.
